UVGI

UVGI – Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation

UVGI is a sterilisation method that uses ultraviolet light (Electromagnetic Radiation) at sufficient short wavelengths, in a closed environment, to destroy bacteria, fungi, viruses and other micro-organisms in clear water, in order to produce drinking water suitable for human consumption. The process has a variety of applications in water treatment and like Ozone, it’s main disadvantage is that there is no disinfectant residual carried over in the processed water after production.

MWS are able to offer prospective customers UVGI disinfection service and advice should it be required.
